Delivery & Returns

Delivery is by courier (except parcels weighing less than 1.4 kilos, which are sent via Royal Mail). For goods which are in stock, it normally takes around 3 to 5 days from order for UK destinations and longer for overseas deliveries, depending on the destination.

For goods sent by courier, we will email you the tracking number for your delivery after dispatch so that you can check its progress online, if you wish to.

Please let us know if you need your order very urgently, or if you have a specific delivery date in mind (e.g. beginning of school term). There's space to do this during "Checkout" - see "Special Delivery Instructions - When?"

For goods that are out of stock (this shouldn't happen though from time to time it does) the delivery time can be longer, just depending on the schedule for our next container. If delivery is likely to be more than a week we'll contact you to see whether you're happy to wait or prefer to cancel or change your order. Delivery cost is calculated by weight (based on estimated average weights) and in some cases for international destinations, by volume, see note 1. below:

Please note:

  1. Occasionally, very bulky items attract a surcharge from our courier - in these cases we will endeavour to contact you for approval prior to dispatch.
  2. Offshore and Scottish Highlands  UK destinations sometimes attract a surcharge, which in most cases is included in the delivery costs calculated during the checkout (but not in the delivery estimate in the Shopping Basket Summary) and, if this applies to your order, we'll advise you of this prior to dispatch.
  3. In the case of international deliveries, you (the customer) are responsible for paying all customs duties and VAT, if any, charged by your country of residence. Any non-paid duty or VAT charged back to us will be re-charged to you together with an administration charge of £ 20 per consignment. You are also liable for all costs relating to any goods returned due to non-payment of duty and VAT.

Please let us know straight away if anything arrives damaged or otherwise in a substandard condition and we'll be happy to replace, refund the cost or provide you with an alternative product to your satisfaction.

If an instrument develops a fault within 12 months of purchase in the course of normal use, though excluding fair wear and tear, please let us know and we'll replace it or refund the cost.

We really appreciate your feedback in the case of faults, or if you think any instrument could be made better. We take all such feedback very seriously indeed. It's usually very important to us to see the problem instruments as this gives us solid information for changing the design, the production method or the packing method.

But please contact us before returning any damaged or substandard items. Once we've approved their return, please send to:
