Instruments

Here you'll find a wide range of age-appropriate instruments and accessories and your 30% educational discount applies here too. These are real musical instruments, not plastic toys: they're just like professional ones but in most cases have been scaled-down to suit smaller players. They're all individually made by hand from natural, tactile and sustainably grown materials and the decorative designs are from paintings by Balinese children. Below are the main instrument sections and there are lots of different sizes and models within each section.

You can use "mouseover" to flick through images of the products (or subsections) in each section below and if you click on an image it will link direct to that product (or sub-section). The drums are fantastic! High quality and a great price! I have used them nearly every day with all year groups and some pupils are in the music room every break and lunch to play on them! The djembes have been particulary useful in teaching African music to whole classes.

These are based on Balinese gamelan but are made smaller and lighter and have also been tuned to a version of the 'slendro' tuning which is basically pentatonic - put simply all the notes will sound good together and with our other gamelan in this set. Young children love playing these because not only do they make a great sound, they are hit with specially shaped mallets and have enticing bright designs on the instruments... [...]
